Cost estimateEach Case Is Unique. Motions, appeals, complaints, and other briefs have different lengths, complexities, editing and graphics needs. No two are alike. Some require substantially more or less work in summation graphics, one page summation text, tactical graphics, single page conclusions, and body text editing. Therefore, pricing necessarily follows an Intake Review and Project Proposal model.

Intake Review – $500.00 Fixed. The intake review begins when a client law firm submits a case for evaluation. The client attorney must believe his/her case meets all Three Basic Criteria. Usual COAP clients submit 10 to 30 page Summary Judgments, Appeals, Complaints, Motions, etc. A COAP team member will contact the client within 24 hours to conduct an intake interview. A copy of the submitted document is then sent to a COAP attorney, graphics analyst and editor who each review the document independently before the COAP Team Review Meeting. At the meeting, the team determines how much improvement in “persuasive value” can be expected. If  significant improvements appear likely, COAP assesses workload and a formal proposal is made to the client.

Best Case Proposals — $2,500 to $4,000 Typical. (NOTE: Cost can be significantly more or less depending on case document needs). COAP will only respond to client law firm requests with a firm fixed price ‘Best Case Proposal.’ All proposals reflect what the COAP Team believes will improve the case by a significant margin in persuasive impact. COAP will not propose any graphics material (e.g., table, chart, graph, diagram, etc) or editing unless COAP believes it will indeed add substantially to the persuasive power of the case.

Best Case Proposals will almost always include a single one page graphic to capture the entire case on one page for placement on page two of the court document. Additionally, Best Case Proposals will almost always include a proposal to pair this graphic with a more powerful/cogent one page text summation of the case for placement on page three of the court document. A Best Case Proposal often, but not always, will include a one page text conclusion—again, only if a more powerful/cogent potential exists to increase persuasiveness. Finally, some cases may benefit with varying levels of editing offered as Level 1 Proofreading (e.g.,  spelling, punctuation, grammar), Level 2 (minor to moderate changes in word selection, sentence shortening, idea simplification, etc.), or Level 3 (major restructure and/or argument reorganization changes).

All COAP proposals will provide a work order and identify scope, mini-charter statement, team members & roles, deliverables, timeline and firm fixed price. Once proposals are accepted, COAP considers the client attorney(s) to be an integral part of the COAP project team and must be available to meet deadlines according to the proposal. COAP cannot be held responsible for delays due to client unavailability.

Rush Orders. A 20 percent fee is added to rush orders. COAP requests at least 7 days notice for rush orders and requests two weeks for non-rush orders. In all cases, deliverables will involve at least one or two client attorney review meetings beyond the intake meeting in order to develop and finalize needed improvements.
